A Regretful Incident That Taught Me The Most Sense In 2020 — A Short Nugget of Gold!

What if you could take an action now and avoid massive regret and pain?

It took effect in March 2020.

My University closed its doors, office operations went on hold and schools were told to shut down until further notice. And this closure caught me at a REALLY bad time. Bad time meaning — I had no ample money on hand…….or in my bank account.

Fear gripped all the valves of my heart and sucked air out of my lungs. It was one of the most insecure periods of my existence. For the first time ever since I could remember, I have never been that intensely scared before!

For the first time since I could remember, I have never been that intensely scared before!

This particular fear was so real, I could metaphorically smell it. The issue wasn’t Covid but the abrupt changes it brought with it.

I was utterly unprepared!

I then wrote down everything those dark, fearful periods taught me and two stood out for me. My hope is you will not take these lessons at face value but inculcate them and really follow through on them. If you don't, there is a good probability you will meet yourself in this situation or even worse.

It is not a curse but a mathematical probability. And If there is one thing I can categorically say about Mathematics, it is that…

Math is Law

The number 10 will always be lesser than the number 1 million and you can’t take out 50 from 35 without ending with a deficit.

The 2 Most Important Lessons

Lesson 1: When it comes to your finances, income comes first: Know this:

You can buy anything you want if you can have an income that supports it. Anything!

Even if your income isn’t that great, keep finding ways of making money come in daily. Having quick access to cash when you need it is a massive miracle a lot are underestimating. Please, don't take this lesson lightly.

Lesson 2: Have an emergency stash: One other detail I left out was that my phone went bad just as I lost possession of the laptop I was using then for my business. If I had an emergency fund saved somewhere, I could use that to spring up myself and my business. All those months also, would not have gone to waste.

This is not the money you spend when you are hungry or you want to buy something you can’t afford yet. It is your lifeline money. Money that will shelter you when things go south. Money that will strengthen you should you become unable to work for some time. This money will keep you safe and make you immune to any drastic, negative events.

Now, I use PiggyVest to set aside this emergency fund. With their Flex Naira Plan, you can get this done. And all this cost zero Naira.

Piggyvest

When you sign up, you get #1, 000 to start your own fruitful savings journey.

Imagine just what one decision can do to alter the course of your life forever. Make this move and in the not so distant future, you will be grateful you did.

I wish you the very, very best as you take this on. Kindly leave a comment on how this has helped you.
